KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT!

I was imagining this shot in my head before actually attempting taking it but It didn't come out the way I wanted it to come out. This situation occurred because I did not have full knowledge of the limitations of my off camera flash, so it took me a few trial and error moments to get it right. I am not showing you the product that worked out for me but rather one that did not work out during the shoot. I also wanted to make a point that even though the shot didn't work out the way I wanted it to that I was still able to salvage the shot.

  • Hi Brian....realy enjoyed looking through your photo-blog - too many pics for my first sitting, so I'll be back.

But meanwhile I wanted to say how much I like this shot; the mixture of silhouette and detail make it a beguiling cameo.

I also wanted say that I was delighted that you share my thoughts about minimalistics - do you think it will catch on?
